At Drone Universities, we teach you the skills you will need to stay competitive in this rapidly growing industry. With an emphasis on hands-on practical training provided by some of the industry’s best pilots, our curriculum is designed to fast track our students into working drone professionals.

Our curriculum, created by pilots for pilots, includes a variety of courses and multiple levels of operator certification. Students of Drone Universities graduate as a Drone Operator, a specialty drone operator such as an Aerial Photography/Videography Drone Operator or as a Commercially Ready Drone Pilot. Unique to Drone Universities, our Commercially Ready Drone Pilot graduates receive a free Section 333 Exemption*.

The Drone Industry

The drone industry is positioned for exponential commercial growth over the next decade. An estimated 30,000 commercial and civil drones could be flying in US airspace by 2020, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) estimates that between 2015 and 2025, the drone industry will create 100,000 jobs and contribute US$ 82bn to the US economy. These new jobs will require new expertise, expertise that can be learned from drone university courses.

Drones, a Transformative Technology

While the real impact drones will have is yet unknown; the consensus is drones are a transformative technology. Peter W. Singer, a fellow at the Brookings Institution, believes that drones will be as transformative as the advent of gunpowder, the steam engine, the automobile, or the computer. Brian Adams, Director, Scotts Fain PC believes “Drones will likely be as transformative of commerce and indeed, life in general, as computers, cellphones and the Internet itself.”
