Every so often, I run into an article that is more self-promotion than story. I usually avoid discussing these types of stories, however, in the case of the drone parachute products from by CADDrones LLC, I think their product line is worth discussing.
At CADDrones LLC we believe that it won’t be long before a “parachute recovery/safety system” is required for heavier unmanned aircraft operating for commercial purposes. That’s why we’ve worked very hard to bring an affordable line of parachute products to the unmanned industry. Using a parachute on your UAV can even help lower you insurance rates for your commercial drone company and flight operations.
CADDrones LLC manufactures drone parachutes with auto-deploying mechanisms in a variety of sizes. From small to extra large, and they even do custom solutions for drones over 55 lbs. Do we really need drone parachutes? When you consider the cost of your drone and the potential risk to others, it seems like this is an idea whose time has come.
UPDATE: If you are curious to see a drone parachute in action, here is a video (this doesn’t appear to be a CADDrones parachute though):
About Joshua Allen Johnson
CADDrones LLC is a project of Joshua Allen Johnson. I’ve lived in the Minneapolis, MN Suburbs my whole life. I’m 23 years old, a business owner (CAD Drones LLC) and college student going for my CAD Engineering Degree with a passion for Robotics, 3D Printing, Unmanned Vehicles, and Do It Yourself Modifications. The unmanned vehicle industry has had my attention since I was 12 years old. As a young adult I worked very hard to make the idea of owning my own drone business a reality. I started that journey by becoming the Assistant Administrator of DiyDrones.com and Contractor for 3D Robotics. During that time I learned a lot about Drones, Start Up Businesses, Customer Service, and much more!
