Matthew Elyash is a veteran aviator and award-winning visual storyteller with decades of experience in both manned aviation and unmanned aerial systems. He became a licensed pilot in 1975 and went on to serve 24 years in U.S. Naval Aviation—specializing in Airborne Antisubmarine Warfare in both active duty and reserve capacities.
A pioneer in aerial cinematography, Matthew is an acclaimed photographer and videographer whose work has been featured on National Geographic, Animal Planet, NBC Nightly News, and programs like Wild Justice and Animal Rescue. His eye for cinematic detail and operational expertise have made him a trusted name in broadcast and documentary production.
Embracing drone technology early, Matthew built his first drone in 2011 and has since developed systems for others, applying his deep technical and aviation knowledge to this rapidly evolving field. He is currently designing an unmanned aerial survey program for a state agency, aiming to reduce the risks associated with traditional manned flight operations.
